body language
Before Elfie start a shoot she don't know exactly what image she is going to make.
At the moment she let herself be inspired by the light, her feeling, the surroundings and the model's mood.
As an artist she have to be able to let go of control.

With her camera she examine the body and its surroundings. Lines and the play of light can inspire her enormously. In most of her recent works (2019/2020) there is no recognizable face to be seen. This allows her to appeal to everyone with her image.
"A "recognizable" face creates a kind of safety for the viewer because the emotion is about that person in the picture and not about themselves, they think. Without a face it comes closer." The body in the work speaks a pure language. Her back shows life. Elfie likes to show vulnerability in a powerful image. Vulnerability isn't a weakness but a strength as long as we don't bring ourselves down as victims. We are allowed to love and embrace ourselves. We can have confidence that our hearts are showing the right way. |
Elfie her images does not have to carry a clear-cut story.
the viewer may form his own story around the image, guided by their own feelings and thoughts.
